The medieval building, very damaged during the Hundred Years War and the Wars of Religion is restored and enlarged.
Two chapels are attached to the old vessel forming a Latin cross plan oriented to the east.
In 1883 the bell tower is completely rebuilt.
Stained glass windows adorning the church's windows are from the 19th and 20th centuries. They come from the workshops Lobin and Fournier de Tours.

Église Saint-Pierre de SANXAY
L'édifice médiéval, très endommagé pendant la guerre de Cent Ans et les guerres de Religion est restauré par la suite et agrandi.
Deux chapelles sont accolées à l'ancien vaisseau formant un plan en croix latine orientée à l'est.
En 1883 le clocher est reconstruit entièrement.
Les vitraux qui ornent les baies de l'église sont du 19ème et du 20ème siècle. Ils proviennent des ateliers Lobin et Fournier de Tours.
