The Gemündener Maar is a volcano lake in the Eifel. It is the northernmost of the three Dauner Maare.
The Maar is 325 meters long, 300 meters wide and 38 meters deep. It has an acreage of 7.2 ha and is therefore the smallest of the three Dauner Maare. It is around 30,000 years old. The water level is around 406 meters above NN. You can swim in the summer.
During the phreatomagmatic eruption with which the Maar was created, only a narrow ridge between the Maar and the Lieser river remained.
