"This corbel has been inserted under the R label stop of the sedilia, of c. 1300, in the S wall of the N chancel chapel. It is a grotesque face corbel of whitewashed stone with pierced round eyes, circular ears, wide teeth bearing mouth and moustache. Below it are little gripping hands or paws as if it were kneeling. Its appearance is vaguely leonine.

Another corbel is in the interior E wall of the S chapel, beside a blocked Gothic window. It is carved with the muzzled head of a bear, and is one of two flanking the window, reused as brackets for statuettes; the other is uncarved. The same eye type, using concentric rings, as in the other corbel.

Both sculptures are from a 12thc corbel table of which nothing else survives, and are ancient re-insertions."
