SALMON BARBEL AND EEL

The sculpture marks the installation of the fish pass at Sprotbrough weir.
The improving water quality of the River Don is allowing species like the barbel to
thrive and enabling the return of salmon.

We toirs can act as barriers restricting the movement of fish and may limit access to
feeding or spawning grounds. This pass will ease the passage for migratory fish like salmon
and eels so they may establish sustainable populations.
