"O voo TAM 3054 (ICAO: TAM 3054) foi uma rota comercial doméstica, operada pela TAM Linhas Aéreas (atual LATAM Airlines Brasil), utilizando um Airbus A320-233, partindo do Aeroporto Internacional de Porto Alegre com destino ao Aeroporto de Congonhas. Em 17 de julho de 2007, ao tentar pousar na pista 35L em São Paulo, a aeronave não conseguiu frear, ultrapassou os limites da pista, atravessou a avenida Washington Luís e colidiu com o prédio da TAM Express e com um posto de gasolina da Shell. Todos os 187 passageiros e tripulantes a bordo do A320 e mais doze pessoas em solo morreram. É o acidente aéreo com mais mortes na história da aviação brasileira, ultrapassando o voo Gol 1907 e também o mais mortífero envolvendo uma aeronave da família A320 até então, sendo ultrapassado em outubro de 2015 pelo voo Metrojet 9268, com 221 mortes.
O acidente, investigado pelo Centro de Investigação e Prevenção de Acidentes Aeronáuticos, órgão filiado à Força Aérea Brasileira, teve seu relatório final divulgado em setembro de 2009, apontando como causas principais do acidente o erro do piloto, ao configurar irregularmente os manetes, falta da infraestrutura aeroportuária brasileira, faltando groovings (ranhuras) na pista de Congonhas e autonomia excessiva aplicada aos computadores da aeronave."
