The city of Cannes has set up large letters spelling the city's name on a hill above the city center. They are located near the church Église Notre-Dame d'Espérance and are readable all over from the city down below. The letters are made from a reflective, metallic material giving them a golden color.
Obviously, the letters resemble the famous "Hollywood" letters in Los Angeles. Being the venue of the famous film festival of Cannes, the city followed suit with the mother of all film and cinema towns.
