Located just off of I-75 in Charlotte County, Florida on Jones Loop Road and Taylor Road is a Sandhill Crane Crossing sign. This sign is at an extremely busy intersection with grassy areas on both sides of the road. Sandhill Cranes are noted for their tolerance of vehicle activity in and around their feeding areas. Unfortunately for them landing and taking off require adequate space and they are known to step out into traffic to get from one feeding spot to another.
