Auf der Besucherterasse des Köln-Bonner Flughafens gibt es eine innovative Bank, an der man seine mobilen Geräte wie z.B. Handys per Solarstrom laden kann. Dazu sind in die Sitzfläche Solarmodule eingelassen, die einen eingebauten Akku laden. Mobilgeräte lassen sich dann entweder über die seitlich angebrachten USB-Anschlüsse oder kontaktlos durch Auflegen auf den markierten Flächen neben den Solarmodulen laden (QI). Hersteller der Bank ist die deutsche Firma Messwerk GmbH, die ihre Produkte unter dem Namen "iBench.eu" vermarkten.

Die Besucherterasse befindet sich auf dem Dach des Terminals 1 am Stern C und kann von jedem Besucher auch ohne Flugticket frei betreten werden. Die Öffnungszeiten sind täglich von 05:00 bis 00:00 Uhr außer bei schlechtem Wetter.
There is an innovative bench on the visitors' terrace of the Cologne-Bonn airport where you can charge your mobile devices such as mobile phones by solar power. For this purpose, solar modules are embedded in the seating, which load a built-in battery. Mobile devices can then be charged either via the side-mounted USB ports or contactless by placing them on the marked areas next to the solar modules (QI). Manufacturer of the bench is the German company Messwerk GmbH, which market their products under the name "iBench.eu".

The visitors' terrace is located on the roof of terminal 1 at the star C and can be freely entered by any visitor even without a plane ticket. The opening hours are from 05:00 to 00:00 every day except in bad weather.
