One of three fire halls in Douglas County Fire District 1, this is the largest of the group, serving the largest population. Of Waterville's population of about 1,200, 35 or so volunteer to serve on the fire department.

It would appear that the fire hall was built in two stages, the three door section nearest the library first and the lower section to the north later. With a total of six overhead doors now, we must assume that there are six firefighting vehicles lurking within, though one could be an ambulance.

It would seem that both the Town of Waterville and Douglas County prefer to keep their operations secret, as we have yet to find any useful information on this fire hall online.
