The confluence of Cucumber Creek and the Blue River in Breckenridge is also the location of Kayak Park (https://www.breckenridgerecreation.com/locations/parks-fields/kayak-park ) and the combination art/bridge installation Colorado River Rock Bridge (http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMZZQ2_Colorado_River_Rock_Bridge_Breckenridge_CO_USA ) and (http://www.breckcreate.org/explore/public-art/colorado-river-rock-bridge/ ). The bridge is part of Breckenridge's Blue River Trail; an easily found and navigated trail through the town that follows the beautiful Blue River.

"The Blue River is a tributary of the Colorado River, approximately 65 miles (105 km) long, in the U.S. state of Colorado.

It rises in southern Summit County, on the western side of the continental divide in the Ten Mile Range, near Quandary Peak. It flows north past Blue River and Breckenridge, then through the Dillon Reservoir near Dillon. The west portal for the "Roberts Tunnel" is at the base of Dillon Reservoir. The Roberts Tunnel is a trans-basin diversion, built by Denver Water in 1962, that diverts water under the Continental Divide from the Colorado River basin into the South Plate River Basin. The east portal is approximately one mile upstream of Grants, Colorado.

North of Dillon the river flows north-northwest along the eastern slope of the Gore Range and joins the Colorado River at Kremmling.

The Green Mountain Dam, 13 miles (21 km) upstream from Kremmling, forms the Green Mountain Reservoir, providing hydroelectric power and diversionary water for irrigation, as part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project. The dam is a project of the United States Bureau of Reclamation. " (from (visit link) )

Information about Cucumber Creek may be found in the Cucumber Gulch Preserve Management Plan (http://www.breckenridgerecreation.com/home/showdocument?id=4715 ), a PDF created by the Town of Breckenridge. It cites the importance of the area from the flow of Cucumber Creek to provide habitat for moose, elk, beaver, etc. since this creek creates a riparian area critical to wildlife. This area is developed with trails, but dogs are prohibited.
