The Woodmen of the World emblem is embedded in the end of one of the three large logs that are crosswise atop the monument. Below is the initial, "B", complemented by palm leaves and oak leaves, and the family name, "Burnett", is on the plinth. The inscription reads:

M.B. Burnett
Born May 8, 1861
Died Feb. 1, 1918
