Perched upon a small hill at the X intersection of Howard Hill Road and South Killingly Road, is the Foster Public Library. Complete with belltower, this bright red former schoolhouse was restored and dedicated to Town of Foster war veterans on November 11, 1957. Its address is 184 Howard Hill Road.

Three small rooms make up the entire ground floor. A meeting space is available in the basement. Several computers and free Wi-Fi here are essential to members of this rural community, often serving as their only local access to the internet. The librarian said that folks will also sit in their cars to connect since indoor space is so limited.

The Foster Public Library is a member of the Ocean State Libraries consortium. As a member of OSL, which serves the Rhode Island community by sharing materials, services, and electronic resources, library card holders may check out and return books from and to here and any other OSL member institution in the state.
