he graduates of the Prague grammar school where Alois Jirásek worked, he also studied at the Charles University, where he obtained a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Philosophy. During his college studies he worked at the Department of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy with Professor František Vejdovský.
The most significant achievements have been achieved in hipology. Regenerated the breed of the Kladruber horses (

Absolvent pražského gymnázia, kde pusobil Alois Jirásek, dále studoval na Karlove Univerzite, kde získal doktorát na Filozofické fakulte. Behem vysokoškolských studií pracoval v ústavu zoologie a srovnávací anatomie u profesora Františka Vejdovského.
Nejvýraznejších úspechu dosáhl v hipologii. Regeneroval plemeno starokladrubských vraníku a kone Prevalského. Byl zakladatelem svetove proslulého Hipologického muzea ve Slatinanech.
Zasloužil se i o prošlechtení ceské husy, šumavské ovce a o regeneraci cervinek a preštického prasete.
