The Egyptian Embassy in Berlin, Germany is a modern building decorated in typical Egyptian style, designed by designed by Cairo architect Samir Rabie.

Part of the design is a six-foot tall Buddy Bear, adorned with typical ancient Egyptian symbols, thus combining parts of Egypt with parts of the host city.

The bear is Berlin's heraldic animal (As a matter of fact, Berlin was originally named Bear-lin).

The idea of the Buddy Bears started in 2001. By now, there are hundreds of them all over the town.
