Adjacent to Bristow VFW Post 3656 meeting hours, a large outdoor war memorial area has on display numerous items of military equipment and several specific memorials.
This time capsule was placed by the VFW Post in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the United States. An engraved marble plaque is mounted on a concrete pad. The tip of a shell is mounted on the left; damage has occurred to the concrete on the right. The time capsule engraving reads:
Happy Birthday U.S.A.
1776 - from - 1976
Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States
This Time Capsule is dedicated by
Post 3656 during the Bicentennial year
on June 19, 1976 A.D.
To be opened in the Tricentennial
year 2076 A.D.
