Im See am Mediapark in Köln steht ein restaurierter Abschnitt eines alten römischen Aquäduktes. Der Aquädukt war Teil der 54,4 km langen Wasserleitung aus der Eifel bis nach Köln und wurde etwa 30 n. Chr. erbaut.

Der Aquäduktabschnitt ist sehr gut erhalten bzw. restauriert. Er wurde aus Natursteinen und einer betonähnliche Masse gefertigt. Besonders interessant ist der Kontrast zwischen dem antiken Bauwerk und den dahinterliegenden modernen Bürogebäuden des Mediaparks.

Da der Aquädukt im See steht und nicht direkt erreichbar ist, sind die Koordinaten auf der nahegelegenen Brücke verortet, von wo aus man einen guten Blick auf den Aquädukt hat.
In the lake at the Mediapark in Cologne stands a restored section of an old Roman aqueduct. The aqueduct was part of the 54.4 km long water line from the Eifel to Cologne and was built around 30 AD.

The aqueduct section is very well preserved and restored. It was made of natural stones and a cementitious mass. Particularly interesting is the contrast between the antique structure and the modern office buildings of the Mediapark behind.

Since the aqueduct is located in the lake and is not directly accessible, the coordinates are located on the nearby bridge, from where you have a good view of the aqueduct.
