Named for Ygnacio Garcia, a notable Wickenburg businessman who donated the property, this one room schoolhouse served as Wickenburg's first brick public school. Built on a budget of $1600, this building replaced an earlier wooden structure that had been transported from the Vulture mine. Schools of this design were common in territorial Arizona but the Garcia school is the best example of the two remaining buildings.
