On the north side of Highway 155 as it passes through the area, the Don Kuehne bench is just off the east end of the Columbia River Bridge, an NRHP site. All traffic entering or leaving from or to the west must pass over this bridge. Wood 2X4s from the back and sides while stel tubes form the frame of the bench. It's just off the sidewalk in front of a low stone wall.

For several years Don owned and operated the Melody Restaurant in Coulee Dam in partnership with his mother, Berniece. The restaurant is still in operation, just around the corner on River Drive. Berniece died in 2012, Don sometime before that.
