Hattie Mae (Langford) McCleskey was born in 1893, the year that the public was shocked to discover that Sherlock Holmes had died just two years previously.

Mrs. McCleskey's husband, James Turner McCleskey, was the son of the cemetery's benefactors, Ezekiel and Louisa McCleskey. The McCleskeys buried a relative here in 1879, and ultimately put the land aside as a public cemetery.

Mrs. McCleskey's modern, gray granite headstone has roses in the upper corners, and "In God's Care" is at the bottom. It reads:

1993 - Microsoft releases Windows for Workgroups.
1995 - Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols carry out a bombing in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people.
