At the end of the large sweeping pier in San Francisco's Aquatic park is this US Army Corps of Engineers Survey Mark...

It also reads "1982", "Muni" (SF light rail), and "7".

This is the view back down the pier

It's a nice, albiet threadbare, pedestrian boulevard.

To the North? Alcatraz...

It's a very scenic benchmark.
