This friendship is no coincidence, it goes back to World War II. Since Leymen borders on three sides of Switzerland, the village was located in front of the Maginot Line and was therefore unprotected. At the outbreak of war, the entire village was evacuated to Mauvezin d'Armagnac in the department of Landes. During this time, many connections between the two villages emerged, which continue to this day and go far beyond an average town partnership.

Au début de la guerre, tout le village fut évacué à Mauvezin d'Armagnac, dans le département des Landes. Au cours de cette période, de nombreux liens entre les deux villages ont été maintenus et un partenariat communautaire plus de moyen est apparu.

Bei Kriegsausbruch wurde das ganze Dorf nach Mauvezin d'Armagnac im Departement Landes evakuiert. In dieser Zeit entstanden viele Verbindungen zwischen den zwei Dörfern, die bis heute andauern und eine durchschnittliche Gemeindepartnerschaft übersteigen.
