As I was walking to a CITO Event that was occuring that particular Sunday morning I came across the Ambulance Station / Fire Station. And, while almost exactly two months later I saw a Firehouse also matched with an Ambulance Station, that was in Canberra! (In the ACT)
This is a two-storey building, with Bessa blocks for the lower floor, and cladding for the upper. The front of the upper floor is set back by about 1.8 metres, with a fenced in section for about half the area - joining the two sides, of the Ambulance, and the Fire Station. The Corrugated iron roof is very flat, with maybe a 2° fall to either side
The Fire Station has two panel-lift doors, with five double segments of perspex, so the vehicles can be seen - when housed. [While the Ambulance panel-lift door is the same height, it is only four double segments of perspex panels wide.] While there are two flag polesout the front, and two flags raised, there was no wind, so one may have been the Australian (or NSW State) flag, but the other was predominantly white [potentially the Ambulance Service flag.] Yellow-painted steel, concrete-filled bollards stand either side of the bay doors. A concrete apron leads out to Bundeena Drive. While one tanker could be seen as I walked past, I assume that the other one was out on a job.
In December 2013 "Health Minister Jillian Skinner, along with parliamentary secretary for Police and Emergency Services, Geoff Provest, and Heathcote MP Lee Evans cut the ribbon to open the station in Bundeena Drive." Costing $2,200,000 this joint fire brigade and ambulance station was 'the first' purpose-built one for NSW. [With photos of the opening: (

** Right next door (to the west) is the volunteer brigade; which is a separate entity! **
