Oilton, OK was established in 1915 as an oil boom town when the nearby Cushing-Drumright Oilfield was discovered. The town's population today is about 1000, with strong roots in agriculture and oil.

Oilton City Park is a small park on the west side of town, with several commemorations to its early days. Throughout the park, wooden silhouettes are placed reminiscent of the town's history. There is a bison, a cowboy and child, an Indian Chief and a Cowgirl leaning against a tree. The silhouettes are made of wood and painted black.
