In Milton, along Canton Avenue, is this bench dedicated to Richard K. Newcomb.

The common is located on the northwest side of Canton Avenue, in front of the Milton Town Hall and between two white clapboard churches.

The bench is located near the town hall and near the World War I memorial.

The bench is made from metal posts/braces and plastic planks. The simple plaque is attached to the top plank to support the back, and has the words:

"Richard K. Newcomb
1931 - 2004"

I am pretty certain that this name refers to a Richard K. Newcomb I found on a memorial web site who was once the owner of Mug 'n Muffins restaurants and was Director of the Quincy City Hospital.
