Captain Christensen's gray granite headstone has the family name, "Christensen", across the top, with this inscription:

According to his Findagrave page (see Website, below), Captain Christensen served with Battery A, Utah Light Artillery during the Spanish American War, and at the time he was killed, he was serving with the 82nd Division, 163rd Brigade, 325th Infantry, Company I. John Calvin Sharpe's "On the Hills of Home" provides a summary of the battle, where Allied forces took a high ground position. After about five hours of fighting, Captain Christensen was killed on a ridge, presumably by sniper fire, and he was the second company commander killed in the battle.
