Composée de sections en acier inoxydable chromé, la structure forme un ruban continu accueillant en son centre une flamme éclairee par LED. Inauguré dans le cadre de la journée de l’excellence olympique canadienne du 9 juillet 2015, et de l’ouverture officielle de la Maison olympique canadienne au centre-ville de Montréal, la Flamme Olympique a été présenté au public lors de l’elevation des anneaux Olympique aux dessus de Montréal. Véritable première mondiale, la flamme olympique est destinée à accueillir les noms des futurs vainqueurs olympiques canadiens et d’inspirer aux jeunes générations la passion du sport et des jeux olympiques.

The Olympic Flame is a commemorative monument to the 1200 names of Canadian athletes who won a medal at the modern Olympic Games.
