[EN] Aligned on the same fault, the rocks of Bonnevie, Bredons and Chastel are testimonies of the volcanic activity that marked this territory 3.6 million years ago (at the same time were produced the great basaltic lava flows of planezes). Going up through a feeding crack, the magma constituted real lava lakes. These solidified and were cleared from their craters by erosion, forming rocky buttes called "necks". If they are aligned, it is because they appeared on the same fault. It is rare to have an alignment as marked as this one.

This rock is that of Chastel sur Murat with its chapel Saint-Antoine which culminates at 3914 feet.
