This church was constructed in 1926, in Ajo, a mining town in southern Arizona. The mine owner, to impress travellers and investors, created an elaborate train station and central plaza. He also sponsored this church building opposite the grand plaza. This door would be in view when travellers first entered the area. The door is wood and set in an arched opening. The doorway features two twisted concrete columns on either side with a scalloped concrete arch over the top. The arched portion of the doorway is filled by a latticework of glass panes in wood. The doors themselves consist of a dark wood framework with lighter wood inserts.
