Located approximately 10 miles east of LaBelle, Florida on Highway 80 is the long forgotten town of Goodno. Founded and settled by E.E. Goodno, he built a community with a railroad station, hotel for tourists and land speculators, cattle shipping and more.
Started in 1898 the community grew until the 1926 Hurricane that destroyed most of the town. Today all that is left is the remains of a couple of buildings and nothing more.
The book "Edgar Everett Goodno, A Florida Pioneer and His Ghost Town Remembered" offers readers and history buffs an opportunity to see and understand more about the man and the town. Filled with photos and wonderfully written text this is a book for anyone interested in the area or ghost towns of Florida.
