Description

"Béla-Bartók Square is a square in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, located in the heart of the Front-de-Seine buildings, and surrounded by the quai de Grenelle and the Place de Brazzaville.

Description
Created in 1981, it pays tribute to the Hungarian composer and pianist Béla Bartók (1881-1945), not only by name but also by a statue called Béla Bartók, a work of Imre Varga and donated by the city of Budapest in 1982 (to note that Imre Varga is the author of another statue named Béla Bartók and located in Brussels1).

Covering an area of 6,100 m2, this landscaped garden is planted with rhododendrons, heather and magnolias; there is also a small bamboo plantation.

The square houses a metal fountain resting on a mosaic base, Cristaux, (often called "Béla-Bartók fountain"), sculpted in 1981 by Jean-Yves Lechevallier "
