North of Superior, Arizona U.S.Highway 60 has been straightened to decrease travel time on the way to Miami and Globe. The original alignment followed an easier but longer series of curves and bridges. This bridge carried the highway across the creek and up a side canyon. The new highway alignment cuts off the bridge and a large pine tree is now growing on the eastern side. The bridge no longer carries any traffic. The scenery on either side is impressive.
