Mrs. Dollar and her husband, J.R. (James Robert), share a modern, gray granite headstone, with ivy detail in the upper corners, and the family name, "Dollar", across the top. Mr. Dollar was a member of the Woodmen of the World, whose emblem is below the inscriptions, which read:

1880 - James Garfield wins the U.S. presidential election, but won't see the end of his term, thanks to Charles Guiteau.
1890 - The Sherman Antitrust Act becomes United States law. Future lawmakers consider it more of a guideline.
1900 - A hurricane hits Galveston, TX, and kills thousands of people. They didn't learn from Indianola.
1910 - Halley's Comet comes around again, taking Mark Twain when it leaves.
1920 - The Boston Red Sox win their last World Series title for years after selling Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees.
1930 - Hostess Twinkies are invented.
1940 - Leon Trotsky is assassinated in Mexico, removing a threat to Josef Stalin.
1950 - Charles M. Schulz begins drawing "Peanuts".
1960 - John F. Kennedy wins the U.S. presidential election, but won't see the end of his term, thanks to Lee Harvey Oswald.
1970 - Riverfront Stadium opens in Cincinnati, and Three Rivers Stadium opens in Pittsburgh.
1972 - Mariner 9 arrives in orbit around Mars, and sends us photos. It's still in orbit, no longer functional.
