Après la station de Benet, le train parti de Niort à 4h58 du matin en direction de Fontenay Le Comte derailla. La locomotive alla au fossé et les 6 wagons sortirent des rails et se brisent en s'entrechoquant. Les secours retirent de l'accident 2 victimes, MR Comte marchand de bestiaux mort sur le coup et MR Moreau avec une jambe cassée. Il y eu également d'autres blessés legers !
After the Benet station, the train left Niort at 4:58 am in the direction of Fontenay Le Comte derailla. The locomotive went to the ditch and the six cars pulled out of the rails and crashed into each other. Relief rescues two casualties from the accident, Mr. R. Comte, a cattle merchant who died on the spot and MR Moreau with a broken leg. There were also other light wounded!
