Way Park was constructed in 1935 by the WPA and is named for Fred Way, a civic leader at the time. On the south end of the park, this obelisk was erected in 1954 to honor veterans. The concrete obelisk stands 10 feet tall and is mounted in a small garden surrounded by a low stone wall.
