"The depot building was home to the Cotton Belt Railroad in Murchison, Texas, through 1960. When passenger service ceased in the early 1950s the waiting room was removed as the depot was only used to ship freight. Upon moving the depot to Heritage Park, the historical society restored the building to represent rail service offered to rural communities in the early 1900s. The completion of this restoration in July 2001 includes replacing the waiting room which houses railroad memorabilia and a model train donated by Tom Clyce."

The park is open on Thursday through Saturday from 9am until 12pm. Admission is $5 per person
