" Authorities are investigating an apparent accidental shooting death over the weekend of one Vineland teen by another.

Kristen Freeman, 16, who would have been a high school junior this fall, died Saturday after being shot once in the stomach. Police said she was accidentally hit by a 17-year-old Vineland boy who was target shooting with a .22-caliber rifle in the woods where she was walking. Police did not identify him because he is a juvenile. No criminal charges have been filed.

Freeman was struck at about 3:30 p.m. as she walked behind the target."
