Ms. Hanna's final resting place is marked by a gray, granite headstone, with a slight arch across the top, and the inscription reads:

Jane Hanna
Died Sept. 25, 1903
Age 110 Years

As her Findagrave page does not list a birth date, we can surmise that she was born in late 1792 or at least sometime before September 25, 1793. Significant events that happened in her lifetime include:

1793 - Sam Houston, virtually a saint in Texas today, is born in Virginia.
1803 - James Monroe and Robert R. Livingston head to Paris to buy New Orleans. They come back with all of the Louisiana territory.
1813 - Shawnee chief Tecumseh is killed during the Battle of the Thames in the War of 1812.
1823 - Ludwig van Beethoven congratulates young Franz Liszt after a well-performed concert. Schroeder would have been envious.
1833 - Kalamazoo College is established in Kalamazoo, MI.
1843 - Mount Etna erupts, killing 69 people.
1853 - Franklin Pierce becomes the 14th President of the United States, not long after losing his only son in a train accident.
1863 - The Treaty of Hue is signed between Vietnam and the French Empire. Keep your eye on this arrangement.
1873 - "The Great Depression" begins in the United States, long before the one that started in 1929.
1883 - Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island" is published. Har, Jim, har!
1893 - The Anti-Saloon League is established. Keep your eye on these people.
1903 - Cuba leases Guantánamo Bay to the United States "in perpetuity".
