Manetín is often called the "Baroque pearl of West Bohemia". The Baroque Manetín chateau, the former residence of the Lažanský family is the heart of this town. Manetín was first mentioned in written records in 1169 when King Vladislav II. There are also two churches . The one is dedicated to St. John the Baptist (
visit link) , the other one (The Church of St. Barbora (
visit link) ) is located at easter side of the town.
The several Baroque sculptures of saints are located in a number of places in this town. The sculptures were created by artists from the mid 18th century - Joseph Herscher (
visit link) . The author of this statue is Václav Ondrej Herscher - the son of Josef_Herscher.

Svetec oblecený do biskupského roucha s mitrou na hlave, má pravou ruku vztycenou a v levé drží knihu. Pravicí ukazuje k nebesum. U Vojtecha je berla a mucednická palma. Materiál: pískovec, socha v životní velikosti. Byla na místo prenesena na pocátku 80. let 20.století.
