[DE] "Der Pfleghof gilt als eines der interessantesten Gebäude in Kitzbühel. Es handelt sich dabei um eine ehemalige Burg, auf deren Areal sich neben dem heutigen Pfleghof (mit Wohnungen und Geschäften) das Heimatmuseum und das Forstamt befinden.
Von der Burg hat sich nur der mächtige, fünfgeschossige Turm mit Pyramidendach erhalten, dessen Baukern auf das 12. Jahrhundert zurückgeht. Die ältesten Teile des Gebäudes mit dem "Jochberger Tor" sind aus dem 13. Jahrhundert.
Als um 1150 das Gericht Leukental, das damals dem Hochstift Regensburg unterstand, auf die Herzöge von Baiern überging, bestimmten diese Kitzbühel zum Hauptort dieses Tals und erbauten dort im Bereich des "heutigen" Pfleghofs (Vorderstadt Nr. 33, mit westlich daran anschließenden Gebäuden) eine Burg, den Pfleghof. Von dieser aus wurde bis 1728 das Landesgericht Kitzbühel durch landesfürstliche Pfleger verwaltet.[Diese waren auch für den Schutz der Stadt zuständig. 1850-1985 war das ehemalige Pfleghaus (Vorderstadt Nr. 17) der Sitz des Bezirksgerichtes in Kitzbühel."
