The area now occupied by Queen Valley was homesteaded in 1915 by Hart Mullins, a stagecoach driver for the nearby town of Superior. In its current form, the town began in the 1960's when Hart's estate sold out to a real estate developer. The community is focused around a golf course and has a small bar/grocery store/gas station. There is a Post Office and a Fire Station. In addition to an age restricted mobile home community there are individual houses. The population in 2000 was 820. Queen Valley retains a very rural flavor, providing housing to those who seek shelter from the metropolitan vibe of Phoenix.
