Sint-Christoffelkathedraal is the main church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Roermond and the seat of its bishop. It has been built in 1410 as a four naved basilica in Gothic architecture style. It is located near the marketplace "Markt" at the passage to the
McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.
The cathedral is also a station of the Way of St. James (Dutch: Jacobspad). There is a large
marker in front of the church main entrance.
Currently, the church asks for support in renovating its organ from the community. Hence, an organ pipe is displayed at the entrance. A banner offers to "buy" the pipe to get it installed into the organ.
Today, the cathedral is listed as Rijksmonument. It is open to the public daily between 14:00 and 17:00. The tower of 86 meters height can be climbed from October to April between 14:30 and 15:30.
