Le village de Berloz est aussi connu pour son patrimoine. Actuellement en triste état, le château de Berloz a abrité les Comtes de Berloz du XIIème siècle à la Révolution française. Les Comtes de Berloz ont joué un rôle très important dans le clergé, l’armée et l’administration du Pays de Liège. Intégré dans un remarquable ensemble formé par l’église Saint-Lambert, le presbytère et la ferme castrale, le château était autrefois entouré d’un vaste parc. Le parc, depuis le début du XXème siècle irrémédiablement séparé du corps de logis par la route, était agrémenté par un étang, lui-même alimenté par la Mule. Ce site, classé par la Région wallonne, ne manque pas d’intérêt pour le promeneur qui accédera à une partie du complexe castral par une jolie ruelle longée de hauts murs.
Het dorp Berloz staat ook bekend om zijn erfgoed. Het kasteel van Berloz, dat momenteel in slechte staat is, huisvest de graven van Berloz van de 12de eeuw tot de Franse Revolutie. De graven van Berloz speelden een zeer belangrijke rol in de geestelijkheid, het leger en de administratie van het Pays de Liège. Geïntegreerd in een opmerkelijk complex gevormd door de kerk Saint-Lambert, de pastorie en de kasteelhoeve, werd het kasteel ooit omringd door een uitgestrekt park. Sinds het begin van de 20e eeuw is het park onherroepelijk van het hoofdgebouw gescheiden door de weg en werd het versterkt door een meer, dat zelf werd gevoed door de rivier de Mule. Deze site, geklasseerd door het Waalse Gewest, is van groot belang voor de wandelaar die via een mooie steeg met hoge muren toegang krijgt tot een deel van het castrale complex.
The village of Berloz is also known for its heritage. Currently in a poor condition, the castle of Berloz housed the Counts of Berloz from the 12th century to the French Revolution. The Counts of Berloz played a very important role in the clergy, the army and the administration of the Pays de Liège. Integrated into a remarkable complex formed by the Saint-Lambert church, the presbytery and the castrale farm, the castle was once surrounded by a vast park. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the park has been irremediably separated from the main building by road, and was enhanced by a lake, which was itself fuelled by the River Mule. This site, classified by the Walloon Region, is of great interest to the walker who will access part of the castral complex through a pretty alleyway with high walls.
