Un peu avant le hameau de Saint-Jean, entre Sault et Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, une stèle a été érigée à la mémoire d'Henri Liotard.

L'embuscade réussie du 5 août 1944 à Javon a permis la capture de tout un détachement allemand qui roulait à byciclette et qui appartenait probablement au groupe Kneiss en garnison à Robion. Elle provoque aussi l'envahissement du plateau de Bion par l'armée allemande.

Un camion du maquis de Carpentras qui ignore cette présence ennemie montye en direction de Sault . A son bord se trouve un groupe composé de jeunes résistants, de policiers et d'un déserteur allemand qui souhaite rejoindre le Maquis-Ventoux, quand le conducteur aperçoit le barrage allemand sur la route. Il tente de faire demi-tour mais un autre détachement allemand débouche à l'arrière et empêche toute manoeuvre de repli. Les occupants du camion se dispersent sous le feu des fuisils allemands.
Ce 7 août 1944, vers midi, le jeune Henri Liotard tombe mortellement touché par une balle en pleine tête.

La stèle, en marbre porte la croix de Lorraine, symbole de la résistance française à l'occupation allemande. Le pilier est surmonté d'une plaque malheureusement effacée. Tout près, une autre plaque explique sa présence de la stèle en ce lieu.

Just before the hamlet of Saint-Jean, between Sault and Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, a stele was erected in memory of Henri Liotard.

The successful ambush on August 5, 1944 in Javon captured an entire German detachment that was riding a bicycle and probably belonged to the Kneiss group garrisoned in Robion. It also caused the German army to invade the Bion Plateau.

A truck from the Carpentras maquis that ignores this montye enemy presence towards Sault. On board was a group of young resistance fighters, police officers and a German deserter who wanted to join the Maquis-Ventoux when the driver saw the German roadblock on the road. He tried to turn around but another German detachment broke out at the rear and prevented any withdrawal manoeuvre. The occupants of the truck dispersed under fire from German escapes.
On August 7, 1944, around noon, the young Henri Liotard fell fatally hit by a bullet to the head.

The marble stele bears the Lorraine cross, symbol of French resistance to German occupation. The pillar is surmounted by an unfortunately erased plaque. Nearby, a other plaque explains its presence of the stele in this place.
