"The old 15th century church was located in the middle of the town's cemetery and was blown up by the withdrawal of German troops in September 1944.
A few years later, the city decided to rebuild the building on a bordering site outside the cemetery, near the Town Hall Square.
The Californian architect Maurice Suaudeau is in charge of the project, realized thanks to the financing of the Ministry of Reconstruction and Housing.
The foundation stone of the church was laid on April 30, 1961 and the inauguration took place on April 12, 1964. The stained glass windows are made by Gabriel Loire and the fresco of the choir by Geneviève Colladant-D'Andréis. "

"L'ancienne église du 15e siècle était implantée au milieu du cimetière de la commune. Elle a été dynamitée lors du retrait des troupes allemandes en septembre 1944.
Quelques années après, la ville a décidé la reconstruction de l'édifice sur un emplacement limitrophe hors du cimetière, près de la place de la Mairie.
L'architecte calaisien Maurice Suaudeau est chargé du projet, réalisé grâce au financement du ministère de la Reconstruction et du Logement.
La première pierre de l'église est posée le 30 avril 1961 et l'inauguration a eu lieu le 12 avril 1964. Les vitraux en dalle de verre sont réalisés par Gabriel Loire et la fresque du choeur par Geneviève Colladant-D'Andréis."
