Arthur "Al" Howie ran the length of the Trans Canada Highway from the Mile Zero sign in St. John's, Newfoundland, to the Mile Zero sign in Victoria, British Columbia. He covering the 7295.5 km (4556 miles) in 72 days, 10 hours and 23 minutes. During his run he raised $750,000 for the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for children with special needs.
