He was born on December 29, 1845 in Newburyport, MA and died on April 5, 1924 in Reading, MA. He attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. His Medal of Honor information and citation is: JELLISON, BENJAMIN H.

Citation: Capture of flag of 57th Virginia Infantry (C.S.A.). He also assisted in taking prisoners.
