Le timbre a été mis en circulation en 1978 pour le 75ème anniversaire de l'Université du travail P. Pastur, à Charleroi.

Fondée en 1903 par Paul Pastur, cette institution, dont la vocation sociale et industrielle est clairement affirmée, est actuellement fréquentée par plus de 10 000 élèves et étudiants. Les deux bâtiments les plus anciens de l'institution, à savoir le bâtiment Gramme construit en 1907 par Albert et Alexis Dumont et le bâtiment Solvay, construit en 1911 par Gabriel Devreux et hébergeant actuellement le musée d'art "BPS22", sont classés depuis le 16 juin 2004. Ce classement est accompagné de l'établissement d'une zone de protection englobant le bâtiment administratif et bibliothèque de l'Université du Travail.

The stamp was put into circulation in 1978 for the 75th anniversary of the P. Pastur University of Labor in Charleroi.

Founded in 1903 by Paul Pastur, this institution, whose social and industrial vocation is clearly asserted, is currently attended by more than 10,000 students. The two oldest buildings of the institution, namely the Gramme building built in 1907 by Albert and Alexis Dumont and the Solvay building, built in 1911 by Gabriel Devreux and currently hosting the art museum named "BPS22", have been classified since June 16, 2004. classification is accompanied by the establishment of a protection zone encompassing the administrative building and library of the University of Labor.
