With a photo of the Wesleyan Church at ~1909, unobstructed by the tree beside the now RSL Hall, is the Historical Marker, with the following inscription:

Normanville Wesleyan Church, circa 1909

"The church opened in November 1854. It was built by Nelson Leak, who is buried in the adjoining churchyard cemetery. Others buried in the cemetery include Nelson's wife Elizabeth, William Leak and John Butterworth (17 year old son of John and Isabella Butterworth). The final service was conducted in October 1949. The building was sold to the Yankalilla Branch of the RSL in 1952."

[There is also a 'Stokes' Mortar on the other side of the hall, as well as the Cemetery at the back of the gravel car park for the hall.]
