The limestone plaque is within the iron railing surrounding the tree with inscised lettering which reads:-

                    This OAK was planted on
                      the 4th August 1980
                      to Commemorate the 
                     Eightieth Birthday of
                      H.M.Queen Elizabeth
                        the Queen Mother
