Edwin K. Metzdorf was born on 7 April 1890. A 1965 article mentions that he was with the communications systems for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (later part of the Burlington Northern system), and later worked for the Rock Island Railroad. He married Mabel Claire Pattison on 9 April 1913, but she died young in 1937. Edwin died on 12 December 1991 at the age of 101.
